Exhibition curated by Júlia Rebouças featuring works from the Videobrasil Historical Collection. Opening April 12, 7pm, visitation through July 28
MitoMotim seeks to reflect on the representation of national identity and the ability to go against established orders. The curator resorts to the ideas of myth and mutiny, articulated as a palindrome in the exhibition’s title, to discuss the ways and possibilities of insurgency in face of scenarios of social instabilities, and to reflect on Brazil’s present moment. From the two-way reading, it is as if the idea of a mutiny in art, or through it, was challenged as a mythology, while proposing the mutiny against myths, or the deconstruction of our country ideals.
