From Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd April 2018, the sixth edition of P.Ar.C. takes place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lima, Peru. P.Ar.C 2018 ist the most specialized contemporary art fair in Peru.
Peru Contemporary Art P.Ar.C. has been declared of cultural interest by the Ministry of Culture of Peru. This year the event combines art, photography, conferences, video projections and installations with outstanding presences of artists, collectors, curators and directors of museums and institutions. For a week, Peru will be a meeting point for different exponents of art in the world.
This year’s edition emphasizes views on relations between the Caribbean and Latin America, the public function of institutions and artistic programs of museums, the work of feminist artists, as well as a series of curatorial and research projects that reveal the networks of affinity and affection built around art during the last half century.
NEXT, curated by Florencia Portocarrero, brings together six projects from different Latin American capitals and centers of contemporary art, which are committed to the work of the most promising emerging artists in the region. NEXT gives visibility to these exhibition platforms and their artists.
PATIO DE ESCULTURAS, curated by Max Hernández Calvo, is the new section for open-air sculpture: it presents five artists (four from Peru, one from the US) that address the relationships between outer and inner space mediated by architecture, construction, screen and transport.
SOLO PROJECTS, curated by Manuela Moscoso, brings together the work of four Latin American artists who have a deep commitment to the current world and raise critical reflections from their particular practices.
TIJUANA PROJECT, curated by Ana Luiza Pinheiro Fonseca: the Tijuana Printed Art Fair reaches its 18th. Edition, for the third consecutive year in collaboration with P.Ar.C. Focused on books of artists from around the world, with a special focus on Latin American production, Tijuana researches and connects publishers, artists and producers. For this edition, Tijuana gathers thirteen participants dedicated to the production of artists’ books.
