Thó Simões was born in 1973, in Malanje (Angola), and lives and works in Luanda. He is a multimedia artist, and trained at the National Institute of Artistic and Cultural Training (INFAC) of Angola. He works with painting, performance, collage, urban and digital art, as well as film and photography. His graffiti incorporates elements that reference ancient African cultures, combined with the urban language of major cities, such as São Paulo and Luanda. Since 2001, he has participated in several exhibitions, such as his solo show Congolândia – Multiversos em Desencanto, at Camões – Centro Cultural Português, in Luanda; and group shows Fuckin’Globo (Angola), Luanda Triennial (Angola), ArtinFeira (Italy), among others.
