Situated in the tourist district of Cienfuegos, Cuba, the Poco Bonito gallery and art space was created in 2015 by cultural manager Carlos Infante with the collaboration of Cuban artists.
The gallery emerged from an idea to create a space for independent projects by young artists from all over the island. The aim was to offer an alternative to the common mosaic of Cuban clichés like white, sandy beaches, tobacco and rum, and instead turn it into an haven of powerful art in a sea of souvenirs.
Beside art exhibitions, Poco Bonito also regularly organizes concerts, during which images of artwork by the participating artists are projected.
