Terremoto announces the open call for the second edition of Travesías Terremoto, its research residency program aimed at Latin American artists.
Each edition of Travesías Terremoto takes place in a different territory across the Americas, fostering a research-driven approach based on the specific contexts of each location. This second edition will be held between the Dominican Republic and Mexico City, under the curatorship of Luis Graham Castillo.
With all costs covered (travel, accommodation, programming, and meals), the program offers a transdisciplinary immersion that includes workshops, visits, talks, and collaborations with local agents. Residents will also have the opportunity to develop editorial content to be published on Terremoto’s platform and in its annual print publication.
The Chant of the Chaos-Monde
Inspired by the philosophy of Martinican thinker Édouard Glissant, this volume explores the complexity, opacity, and interconnectedness of Latin American and Caribbean realities. The residency invites reflection on the relationships between ancestral knowledge, ritual practices, and contemporary social challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The activities will take place in two in-person phases: ● San Cristóbal and Santo Domingo, DR (September 24 – October 15, 2025) ● Mexico City, Casa Lü Sur (October 15 – October 29, 2025)
The program includes a series of public activities in collaboration with Casa Mella-Russo in the Dominican Republic and a final exhibition at Casa del Lago in Mexico City, where participating artists will present new works.
REQUIREMENTS: ● Be Latin American, Caribbean, or Latinx ● Reside in the Americas ● Speak Spanish ● Not be represented by a gallery
