Rosana Paulino (São Paulo, 1967) is an artist, researcher and educator. She holds a PhD in Visual Arts from the University of São Paulo (USP) and studied engraving and printmaking at the London Print Studio. She has also been awarded a Ford Foundation fellowship (2006-2008), a CAPES fellowship (2008-2011), and was artist-in-residence at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center in Italy in 2014. As an artist, she stands out for her work with issues of ethnicity and gender, focusing on the position of black women within Brazilian society. With works at major museums such as MAM (São Paulo), UNM (Museum of the University of New Mexico) and the Museu Afro Brasil (São Paulo), Rosana Paulino has been an active participant in exhibitions both in Brazil and abroad, in places such as France, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Portugal and the Netherlands.
