Created by the independent curator and journalist from Alagoas, Deri Andrade, the Afro Project, which was launched amid the pandemic in 2020, is a digital space that maps and disseminates Afro-Brazilian art.
The site presents bios of more than 150 historic and contemporary black artists, grouped by state. In addition, the platform publishes articles, interviews with artists and professionals in curatorship, criticism, and reflections, as well as academic texts, including articles, theses, dissertations, and monographs. The project, further, offers a calendar of current events.
