For documenta15, Más Arte Más Acción (MAMA), a Colombian non-profit organization, has prepared a series of activities designed to reflect on climate change and deforestation. Together with Atelier Van Lieshout, the group created MAMA Doc Space, which will host discussions and film screenings, as well as Werner, a mobile platform that navigates uncharted territories to find new ways of living. In addition, they will present an installation made from the trunks of bark beetle-infested trees, alongside soundscapes from different parts of Colombia, inside the Karlsaue Park greenhouse.
MAMA has also invited the public to engage in discussions in the park, such as Walking as Possible Dialogues, which took place on June 22, and included Fausto Moreno and Osneyder Valoy, who live in the Chocó region in Colombia; Karlsaue park authorities; the researcher Sina Ribak; and José Fernando Serrano, one of the MAMA participants. The group visited several spots around the park and discussed environmental issues in Colombia and Germany, seeking touchpoints.
In July and September, MAMA will host two more series of activities, focusing on climate justice and environmental rights, memory, the peace process, alternative ways of living in biodiverse territories, and Afro cinema narratives, among others.
