Third Horizon Film Festival
Miami, Estados Unidos
Deadline: 19 febrero 2021
Third Horizon Film Festival.
Third Horizon Film Festival is an annual celebration of cinema from the Caribbean, its diaspora and beyond. In particular, Third Horizon seeks to highlight work by filmmakers and artists who are interested in both the aesthetic and political dimensions of cinema, and who seek to go beyond imitative approaches to cinematic form, exploring radical and resourceful ways of representing the unique complexity of the Caribbean experience. The fifth annual edition of the festival will be brought to audiences from Third Horizon’s home in Miami, Florida from June 24 – 30, 2021. The festival will take place in both in-person and virtual formats, details of which will be published soon. The Festival aims to celebrate and empower filmmakers from the Caribbean and its diaspora, as well as filmmakers whose work centers the Caribbean experience. While the festival programs non-Caribbean work, it only accepts submissions from Caribbean and diaspora filmmakers, and filmmakers whose work has the Caribbean as its subject. The festival accepts submissions of any and all forms, genres and lengths. Further requirements are as follows:
Submission fees are US$20 for shorts (less than 25 minutes in length) and $40 for medium-length and feature films (25 minutes and longer). We favor films that have not been screened before January 1, 2020. Priority is given to Florida premieres. Submission to Third Horizon Film Festival does not guarantee selection and screening. For filmmakers in the Caribbean for whom exchange rates make the submission fees prohibitive, you may apply for a waiver via email to info@thirdhorizon.net.
