Domitila de Paulo is a visual artist trained in Fashion Design whose various works include analog collage. Her research process usually starts by gleaning used books, where the artist’s focus is on rare photos in vintage publications. Throughout the exhumed archive, she collects photos to mix various elements and create a personal visual narrative that engages with the concepts of memory and identity. The themes of the feminine and of black ancestry have a decisive presence in her works. Her collages illustrate album and book covers. In 2020, she was invited to curate the urban art festival CURA – Circuito Urbano de Arte (Urban Art Circuit), in Belo Horizonte, along with Arissana Pataxó.
