Digital Residency Programme

The Digital Residency Programme is designed to support contemporary emerging artists from different disciplines in their exploration and experimentation with digital technology in their art. Either in the creative process, the presentation or exhibition of their art, or in combination. Digital technology is not only important to communicate with the globalised cultural field, but also a tool to stay relevant for a generation that identifies uniquely with digital content and new aesthetic expression in the digital sphere.

The Goethe-Institut will offer eight selected artists from Egypt and communicate with the globalised cultural field, but also a tool to stay relevant for a generation that identifies uniquely with digital content and new aesthetic expression in the digital sphere.

The Goethe-Institut will offer eight selected artists from Egypt and Germany a 3-month residency, where they would receive a total stipend of 2000 euros and get the chance to develop their ideas and interact with renowned artists with experience in incorporating digital technology in their artistic practice.

Applications will be reviewed by an independent jury.

The second edition of the Digital Residency Programme will run online from April 1st. 2021 to June 30th. 2021.
