Uniarte 6+ is an open call for all Caribbean artists, curators, writers, cultural producers from the 6 Dutch Caribbean islands and the wider Caribbean region. We are excited to see what the emerging, mid career or the established artists from the region have to offer so that we, among other things, can enlarge the digital visibility of creatives living in the Dutch Caribbean and on the other Caribbean islands.
While the world is slowly opening back up and recovering from the pandemic, our souls are longing for some creative expression, beautiful color and meaningful art. That’s why Uniarte wants to shed some light on our Caribbean creatives and the artistic development in our region.
Our purpose is to:
– Get to know more about contemporary artists that are under represented;
– Introduce new and talented artists from the region;
– Offer the possibility for Artists, Curators and Cultural producers to upgrade their CV, Bio and Artist Statement;
– Create more online visibility for Artist, Curators, Cultural producers and their work;
– Enlarge the artist network from the Dutch Caribbean and regional islands.
Online submission:
With our Open Call Uniarte 6+ you are free to submit a proposal as long as the end result can be presented on our online platform and fits into one of the descriptions below. The concept or medium can be as broad and conceptual as you like.
Feel free to submit a proposal for a new:
– Online presentation;
– Online lecture;
– Online vlog;
– Online blog post with video, photographs, illustrations or digital scans of works.

– The perfect way to practice and improve your presentation skills;
– Extra motivation to create a new idea or continue a body of work;

Good to know:
– Applications can be submitted in English, Dutch, Spanish or Papiamentu;
– Artists can submit one proposal consisting of one or more works;
– We provide a modest fee of 500$ (incl bank transaction fees).
The Open Call runs until the 30th of August 2021. All applicants will be mailed once the committee made its selection.
